The College of Arts invited Prof. Wang Xukun to deliver a lecture entitled Features, Methods, and Secrets of Creative Thinking on November 7th.

Creative thinking breeds creative results”, said Prof. Wang Xukun, “So the most important thing for a college student is not to learn knowledge, but to ask questions.” He believes it is the starting point of any creation.

Meanwhile, he convinced students that it is beneficial to widen their horizon, gain more experience and learn to deal with ever-changing matters.

Moreover, Prof. Wang proposes five approaches to cultivate creative thinking.  “Diffusive thinking can help us think differently and find out better ways, though putting off final results”, He reminds us, “while reverse thinking can contribute to discovering alternative and unexpected methods.”

Furthermore, he stresses that there are knacks for developing creative thinking, which requires us to change our thinking mode, dare to give up, and learn to forecast, etc.

At the end of the lecture, Prof. Wang Xukun put forward his hope for our college students: to discover, to devise, to innovate and proceed.
