Dr. Dong Jinxin delivered on the afternoon of November 3his research report entitled Research on the Application History of the Theory of Directly Applicable Law in EU Countriesatthe 12th annual meeting of European Law Research Association, who isaffiliated to China European Studies. The conference was staged at Southwest University of Political Science and Law with the theme of Development of European Law and New Challenges.
In the paper, Dr. Dong explores the development process of the theory of directly applicable law from the perspective of comparative law as he holds that it is an imported theory. He maintains that before directly applicable law system finds full applicationin EU jurisdiction, the theory of private international law has aroused wide attention domestically, which would help the theory being accepted by international and domestic legislation. The article aims to provide suggestions for China to perfect the theory of directly applicable law system.
This event has gathered more than 60 experts and scholars from over 20 universities and scientific research institutions. The participation of Dr. Dong in the meeting will help expand the exchanges between our college and other famous universities at home.
