Recently, the award ceremony of 2nd HUAETONG Cup Petroleum Russian Translation Contest of UPC was held in our college, which was attended by Zhang Yongning, secretary of Party Committee, Zou Weizhong, vice secretary of Party Committee, Wang Xinbo and Sun Daman, deputy deans of College of Arts, Hu Yanyan, general manager of HUAETONG Translation Technology Company and its technical director, training director, several employees, as well as student representatives majored in Russian.
13 students majored in Russian including Shang Fengtao won the university-level certificates of honor and special trophies awarded by HUAETONG Translation Technology Co, Ltd.. Ma Tianchen, the first prize winner, also earned the training opportunity for CAT translation technology application offered by the company.
At the ceremony, Hu Yanyan introduced the basic information of the company. Prof. Zhang Yongning expressed his appreciation for the growth of the company in recent years, and put forward some opinions for the long-term university-enterprise cooperation. Deputy dean Sun Daman stressed the importance of university-enterprise cooperation, and expressed her hope in achieving the win-win result of collaboration.
In June, 2017, our university signed a framework agreement for cooperation with HUAETONG Translation Technology Co, Ltd.. Since then, both sides have been conducting a series of exchanges and cooperation to cultivate high-quality translators boasting interdisciplinary knowledge. A joint-training base for Russian MTI has been established. This Russian Translation Contest of Petroleum Knowledge was co-held by two parties represents a result of cooperation between the university and the company. Predictably, our training for talents of Russian major will be more diversified and fruitful amid ever-closer ties between UPC and HUAETONG Company.
