On July 9, the opening ceremony of the teaching practice base jointly built by China University of Petroleum and Qingdao Daily was held in Qingdao Daily Group. Wang Xuedong, Dean of the Academy of Literature, Wang Xinbo, Vice-Dean, Shen Zhuangjuan, Associate Professor of the Department of Chinese Language and Literature, and Mao Simin, as well as Wang Qiansong, Vice-editor and relevant leaders of the New Media Center of the newspaper, participated in the signing ceremony.
The ceremony was hosted by Zou Jihong, Director of the New Media Center of Qingdao Daily. He warmly welcomed the group from College of Arts. Wang Qiansong first introduced the basic situation of the newspaper and the challenges under the new circumstances. She especially mentioned the current development of multimedia integration of Qingdao Daily, and hoped this cooperation will help to recruit more professional talents Wang Xuedong introduced the history and general situation of College of Arts as well as the teaching concept and characteristics. Shen Zhuangjuan focused on introducing the beneficial exploration of the Department of Chinese Language and Literature in the training of journalism talents and the improvement of students’ journalism literacy, and hoped to further deepen the joint exploration and in-depth cooperation through this opportunity. After the talks and exchanges between the two sides, Vice President Wang Xinbo and Vice-Director Zou Jihong signed a cooperation agreement. President Wang Xuedong and Vice-President Wang Qiansong unveiled the workstation & the new media practice base. The opening ceremony ended satisfactorily.
After the ceremony, our teachers, visited the studios and other new media center offices, and made a more in-depth understanding of the development of media integration in Qingdao Daily Group.
The co-construction of teaching practice base by China University of Petroleum and Qingdao Daily not only helps schools, especially the Department of Chinese Language and Literature, integrate theory and practice more closely in the training of Journalism and communication talents, but also helps the newspaper to add talents and gain dynamism in the direction of media integration and development. We seek cooperation, mutual benefit and win-win situation, and the construction of teaching practice base will further promote the common development and progress of the two sides in the field of new media.
