On the afternoon of June 26th, the School of Arts held a lecture titled Multi-dimensional Vision of Interdisciplinary Literature Research in Room 358 of the Arts and Sciences Building. Delivered by Professor Jin Bing from the University of International Business and Economics’ School of English, the lecture was hosted by Deputy Dean Sun Daman from the School of Arts. It was attended by Deputy Dean Han Shuqin from the School of Arts, Director Chun Liu from the Department for Graduate Teaching Management, as well as teachers and students in foreign languages and literatures. Professor Jin Bing proposed that humanities scholars should build a community of shared knowledge to meet challenges during the scientific research process. She also pointed out that if business English were to exclusively focus on introducing terminology, it will find itself in a dilemma. Language should not be instrumentalized, but rather used to understand the broad and profound cultures behind it. She believes that disciplines are interlinked, and that literature and economy are closely intertwined. Combining literature and other disciplines is significant for enlightening the future research of teachers and students, and giving students new ideas in literature research.
